Chef Devan Cunningham is the founder and creative force behind In Good Taste Hospitality, a culinary collective shaping how stories, flavors, and cultural expression come to life through food. Under the IGT umbrella live three distinct concepts—The Good Food Table, Fat Fat’s Chicken Shack, and Wining Walrus—each representing a different facet of Devan’s identity and creative voice.
Born and raised in Southern California with deep family roots in the Louisiana–Mississippi Delta, the soul of his cooking is grounded in the flavors of home: bold, layered, warm, and generous. His upbringing in a multicultural community expanded his palette, while early lessons in his mother’s kitchen taught him the heart of hospitality.
A Morehouse man, Devan carries forward the Five Wells of Leadership—well-dressed, well-spoken, well-read, well-traveled, well-balanced—into his culinary philosophy. Every dish tells a story. Every menu reflects technique and intention. Every experience honors culture while embracing refinement and global influence.
Devan is the creator of The Good Food Table, a private dining and catering experience centered on soulful, elevated hospitality. He is also the mind behind Fat Fat’s Chicken Shack, a hood-classic fried chicken concept reimagined with chef-driven flair, and Wining Walrus, a raw bar and natural wine world narrated by the signature voice of Winslow.
In addition to leading IGT, Devan shapes the culinary program at Highball, Downtown Phoenix’s award-winning cocktail lounge. He also guided menu creation and supported the launch of CC’s (his parents restaurant), adding his signature touch to their modern Southern direction.
A rising presence in the national food scene, Devan made his Food Network debut on Ciao House Season Two in Puglia, Italy, and is a Chopped Champion. Across every project, his mission remains the same: Create food that connects people. Build experiences that nourish the soul. Tell stories that last.
